"I eat too much to die, and not enough to stay alive. I'm sitting in the middle of waiting" ~ Manic Street Preachers - 4st 7lb
This is my second attempt to try to do something different from my usual style while painting portrait.
Like the previous one, this one is inspired by "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde and paintings of Jenny Saville too.
But the last time I didn't describe the main idea of it. The idea is that, even though her face is young and pure, it doesn't mean that she hasn't suffered. Like in "The Picture of Dorian Gray" Dorian Gray continued to do sins, but they didn't leave any marks on his body or face. They only destroyed the painting of him. So, in my painting it's like, they only ruin her body, but not her face. That means, on the first glance she seems fine, but others may fail to see deeper. It's like her body is her conscience.
The quality of the photo isn't that good, because weather in Estonia is getting worse and worse.
I hadn't painted for months, so it felt right to do something different and exciting, to fall in love with painting again.
The title is a Manic Street Preachers' song "Archives of Pain".
